DRSC Appointed to the IFRS SSAF

The German Accounting Standards Committee (DRSC) has been appointed as a member of the Sustainability Standards Advisory Forum (SSAF) of the IFRS Foundation for the 2026–2028 term. In this role, the DRSC supports the IFRS Foundation and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) in the continued development of high-quality, comprehensible, and globally recognized IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.

The European members of the SSAF include, in addition to the DRSC, the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) and the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) of the United Kingdom.

The first meeting of the SSAF in its new composition will take place virtually on 24 March 2026. The DRSC will contribute its expertise to the discussions and will help to incorporate German perspectives in the further development of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards. One of its recent contributions includes a submission to the Transition Implementation Group (TIG) of the ISSB on the topic of Anticipated Financial Effects.

Georg Lanfermann, President of the DRSC, commented on the DRSC’s appointment to the SSAF as follows: “We are pleased about our appointment to the SSAF and will actively contribute to the technical discussions to promote interoperability and to support the consistent and practical implementation of sustainability standards worldwide.”
