On 31 March 2021, EFRAG has published its final endorsement advice on IFRS 17. In this document, EFRAG states that apart from the annual cohorts requirement IFRS 17 meets the technical criteria as well as the European Public Good criterion. As regards the annual cohorts requirement, 7 (out of 16) EFRAG Board members conclude that it also meets the endorsement criteria, whereas 7 members consider that it does not. The remaining two members abstain from expressing a view.
After having finalized this endorsement advice, the EU commission is now expected to do the next step.
