European Commission adopts Delegated Acts on the Revised ESRS and the Voluntary Standard (VS)

On 3 July 2026, the European Commission adopted the delegated acts on the revised ESRS and a voluntary sustainability reporting standard for smaller undertakings (VS).

The draft delegated acts are accompanied by annexes containing the respective standards. In addition, the European Commission has published an Explanatory Memorandum outlining, among other things, the amendments proposed compared with the draft standards submitted by EFRAG. Furthermore, a more comprehensive Staff Working Document provides additional information on the revision process for the ESRS Set 1 and the development of the Voluntary Standard (VS).

The delegated acts on the revised ESRS and the delegated act establishing the voluntary reporting standard (VS) will now be submitted to the European Parliament and the Council of the EU for scrutiny. The measures will apply once the scrutiny period of 2 months, which can be prolonged by a further 2 months, has expired.
