IFRS Foundation announces membership of the Integrated Reporting and Connectivity Council (IRCC)

The IFRS Foundation has announced the membership of a new advisory group, the Integrated Reporting and Connectivity Council (IRCC).

The IRCC is an advisory body to the IFRS Foundation Trustees, the IASB and the ISSB, providing guidance on how reporting required by the IASB and the ISSB could be integrated. It should further advice on how the IASB and the ISSB could consider applying principles and concepts from the Integrated Reporting Framework to their projects.

Members of the group include regulators from around the world, investors, national standard-setters, accounting professionals, academics and individuals from companies and non-governmental organisations. Chair of the IRCC is Charles Tilley OBE, former CEO of the International Integrated Reporting Council and former CEO of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Vice-Chair is Suresh Kana, a Trustee of the IFRS Foundation. German representatives are Thomas Kusterer and Michael Gebbert (both EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG) as well as Frank Klein (Deutsche Bank AG). A list of all members of the IRCC can be found here.

The IRCC will hold its first meeting on Thursday 10 November 2022.

Georg Lanfermann comments: „The promotion of an integrated reporting is one of the major concerns of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany. In the past we repeatedly spoke out in favor of integrated reporting and requested an option for integrated reporting. We therefore appreciate the formation of the IRCC and the further development of the ideas of the Integrated Reporting Framework.“
