SRB Chair Kerstin Lopatta resigns; interim Chair appointed by the EFRAG General Assembly

Following the resignation of Kerstin Lopatta as Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board (SRB) on 30 September 2026, EFRAG today announced that Kristian Koktvedgaard will assume the role of Acting Chair of the EFRAG SRB with immediate effect, until a new Chair is appointed. The appointment of the new Chair of the EFRAG SRB will follow an established procedure involving a nomination by the European Commission in consultation with the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.

EFRAG thanks Kerstin Lopatta for her significant contribution to EFRAG’s work on sustainability reporting, as well as for her commitment to advancing European sustainability reporting since 2022.

Georg Lanfermann, President of the DRSC, commented: “At the DRSC, we deeply regret Kerstin Lopatta’s resignation as Chair of the SRB. Despite her outstanding professional qualifications, she was prevented from effectively fulfilling the mandate entrusted to her by the EU institutions. The circumstances surrounding Kerstin Lopatta’s resignation should be thoroughly reviewed by EFRAG and taken into account as part of a wider governance reform, which is urgently needed.”
