DRSC Launches Information Campaign on Simplified ESRS

The revised ESRS are expected to be published in the Official Journal of the European Union in mid-September 2026. This marks the conclusion of the intense process to revise the ESRS, which was initiated as part of the European Commission’s Omnibus Initiative. The revision focused on improving and simplifying these sustainability standards. The DRSC played an active role in this by submitting proposals and comments, as well as through its work in the EFRAG committees.

On July 3, 2026, the European Commission adopted the Delegated Acts for both the simplified ESRS and the Voluntary Standard (VS), which, however, at that time were still subject to objection by the Council and the Parliament.

The revision resulted in significant improvements to the ESRS. In its information campaign, the DRSC provides details on the most significant simplifications in the ESRS. Key aspects have been highlighted on social media channels since August 31, 2026, by members of the DRSC Technical Committee, the EFRAG Sustainability TEG, and the DRSC Secretariat.

Further and more detailed information will be presented at the (web-based) public information session on September 23, 2026. Registration for this event is open until September 21, 2026.

In addition, the DRSC plans in-person events and user forums for DRSC members; we will provide more information about these at a later date.
